Who I Am

JL Smith

I am a passionate storyteller, talented writer, skilled interviewer, meticulous editor, successful freelancer and disciplined photographer. My experience ranges from working as part of a team in a newsroom to interviewing celebrities at a round table.
I am capable of infusing creativity and poignancy into messaging to a variety of audiences in a reliable and timely fashion. My writing is backed by diligent research and accuracy earning me recognition from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association and Texas Community College Journalism Association.
In my free time I enjoy reading and penning poetry, collecting vinyls and filling my book shelves with biographies and the classics. I believe one of the greatest educators is travel, which I seek often and with an open mind. I find stories in the details of my everyday and make it a point to share them through my words.
